RECIPE #40 FLEAS GET OUTA HERE

  20 Mule Team Borax=5 lbs. 4 oz. box=Borax is a            
  detergent booster,natural deoderizer and stain            
  remover.Bought at grocery's store,in detergent isle.      
  For One Room:Vacuum carpet first.Using a jar that has     
  holes punched in cover for sprinkling tool.               
  GENEROUSLY, sprinkle evenly over the carpets. To cut      
  down on dust. Keep sprinkler tool down to about two       
  feet above the carpet surface.Cover every square inch     
  so that it looks like a light dusting on carpet. For      
  furniture:remove cushions, sprinkle borax under           
  cushions/in cracks of furniture, replace cushions.If      
  you have heavy furniture that you cant move,dont          
  worry.The fleas will travel around and will get to the    
  borax. Next,using a rug rake,broom,or brush(rug rake      
  is easiest) Rake over once to get the borax down into the    
  carpet fibers. This is very important,make sure the       
  fine borax powder is deep into the carpet fibers.Then     
  proceed to vacuum as you normally would.If you part       
  the rug fibers with your fingers You will still see       
  borax powder left, ready to continue its work.            
  Eventually you will end up vacuuming up all the borax.    
  Repeat borax treatment at regular intervals 2-3 times     
  during flea season (appx.every 2-3 months)You will        
  have to work out what works best for your area.As a       
  general rule,if you cant see the borax when you part      
  the fibers of carpet,its time to re-treat. Borax will     
  also kill spiders,ants,cockroaches,fleas and other        
  crawly bugs.There have been NO valid reports of danger    
  to dogs/cats to date.This recipe works for anyone that    
  tries it. The period from egg to adult is about 10-21     
  days. As I understand it borax works:Fleas take a         
  daily dust bath. The fine borax powder cloggs their       
  breathing pores along with ingestion and dehydration.     
  Eggs are dehydrated also. Results: Dead Fleas.            
  Hitchhikers pose the only threat now.Flea comb them       
  off and the rest will fall to the carpet and die.         
  ****Kitty Litter:Add 1 1/4 cup of borax to every 5        
  lbs. of kitty litter.This will help your cat box smell    
  fresher and kills the fleas that may land. If you have

  available. ****Yard: Use whirly spreader set on low,or    
  flour sifter Spread the borax on yard,this will kill      
  yard fleas. Be sure to rinse off in a day or two. This
